PINELANDS SOCCER ASSOCIATIONMINUTES FROM MAY 3, 2005 MEETINGMembers in Attendance:Dia Melega Tony Gravato Pat MacNeil Pat AngelusJackie Jackson Troy Yaede Jason Nass JeffGeorge RithianosMeeting called to order @ 7:45 PM by Troy YaedeMeeting minutes from April were available, but not reviewed or approved (open item).Treasurer’s Report:No report availableVice President of Traveling:- 2 Tournaments:Cohansey (2 traveling and 1 Rec team participating) June 11-12Vineland (1 Traveling team participating) Memorial Day weekend- Make up games must be rescheduled ASAP- Mike announced he is ‘yanking’ rec teams off of the master schedule; Refs have shown no accountability.- Travel teams registration must be paid ASAP. Registration is due for the following teams:Red HotsLightningDivasOld Business:- The PSA will not tolerate ‘back talking’ to the Ref’s.- PSA meeting attendance has dropped dramatically. Coaches are encouraged to attend.New Business:- UK Elite Rep Dave Cornish opened up meeting. Dave distributed handouts and spoke about his company and the training opportunities for the summer of 2005. Troy volunteered to reach out to the traveling coaches to inform them of the offers.- Troy made a special request to all the coaches, asking that every child be able to play at least 6 minutes/game.- IMPORTANT REMINDER: SPRING FLING: May 20 @ 7:00PM- Troy spoke to the PSA members about the Spring Fling. He assured all it will be a wonderful event. It is a chance to meet other coaches, parents, and the PSA board members. There are 100 seats available and the cost is $25.00 per person.- Kid Safe Disclosure forms must be completed ASAP.- Troy advised all it will be mandatory for all coaches to have a criminal background check completed in the fall season. Open item: Mike and Troy will contact local and or state police departments to start developing the ‘criminal background check’ process so it is streamlined by the fall season.- By Laws must be reviewed, revised and approved. Estimated Completion Date (ECD) Fall 2005.- Patty requested there be 3 Refs/Game- The need to have minutes posted as soon as possible to the website, so parents and coaches can have the most current information available, was brought to the attention of the secretary. Minutes will be posted NLT 1 week post the meeting time.- Signs will be up in approximately 1 week, 3 more additions coming.- PSA would like to express a big thank you to Mike, the ‘silk screener’, who did all the PSA t-shirts for the league.- New U-14, all girls team being formed; South Jersey Girls Soccer League. Mike’s goal is to contact 30+ players via telephone and mail (to the high school) to inform them of this new team. His plan is to have the team formed and ready to play by the fall.- Special Interest Item from Mike:There was a player injured at a MOSA game on a Sunday afternoon and the EMS personnel could not access the field to provide care because nobody had a key on their person to open the gate. This issue raised major concerns therefore action was taken to change the key lock to a combination lock. A letter was sent to the township requesting the aforementioned action to be taken ASAP. Mike’s thoughts are to entrust the combination to the local dispatchers, so they can release it in time of emergencies to the appropriate authorities.REMINDER: March minutes are still not available.
