MINUTES FROM DECEMBER 2, 2003 MEETING

Meeting called to order @ 7:40PM by Bill O’Connell.

Minutes for the November meeting will be read at the January meeting.

Treasurer’s Report:

Treasurer’s Report will be reviewed at the January meeting.  It is basically the same as last month with a few changes in recreational funds.

Vice President Traveling:

We need to have a plan in place to resolve the issue of referees for the traveling teams.  We need ideas to present to the MOSA and Jersey Coast meetings in January.  There was a great deal of discussion on how to resolve this problem.  We need to check with the referee assigner in Stafford and Lacey.  We might need to increase the referee fees.  We also should check the MOSA website to see if there is any information available to us.  Someone will also talk to Walt.

For those traveling teams that were in the recent tournament, the club would like to congratulate all the players and coaches for a job well done.  We need to credit Mike Angelus’ traveling team’s account for 28 patches that he returned.  Bob Buono would like any and all pictures that you have of your traveling teams.  Bill McGuire went to the last Jersey Coast meeting and stated that from now on if a traveling team has been scheduled for a tournament on the day of a scheduled game, the game will be made up without penalty.

Vice President of Recreation:

The Trophy Party will be held on Sunday, December 7^th.  The 4 year old clinic and Division 1 will be from 12:30PM to 2PM.  Division 2 & 3 will be held from 2:30PM to 4PM.  This event will be held at the Community Center in Mystic Island.  We will be raffling off two soccer baskets and holding a 50/50.  Each player will receive a trophy, goodie bag, picture with Santa, and pizza courtesy of the club. 

The fall season went ok, with some minor problems. 

Spring registration dates are tentatively set as follows:

January 23^rd 6PM to 9PM at Tip Seaman Park

January 24^th 11AM to 2PM at the LEH Library

February 7^th 11AM to 2PM at the LEH Library

February 8^th 12PM to 2PM at Tip Seaman Park

Flyers will go to all the schools the week of January 13^th.

Practices will begin the week of March 7^th and March 21^st will be the first game.  Dribble Pass and Score will be set for Saturday June 19^th.  The last game of the Spring season will be June 13^th.

Quartermaster:

We need to pull the nets off the goals to install the new nets for the spring season.   An inventory needs to be done before the spring season to ensure we have all the equipment necessary for the Spring season.

Old Business:

Final nominations for the 2004 Board members are as follows:

Quartermasters (2 positions):  Tony Gravato and Steve Kohler

Nominations were closed and all nominated members accepted their position and will be the new members of the PSA Executive Board for 2004.  Bill O’Connell thanked all the past Board members who donated their time to this organization and that their (the departing Board members) dedication upon serving on the Board will be missed.  He also stated that he is looking forward to the upcoming year and keeping the club moving in the right direction.

New Business:

The Summer Camp will be scheduled on August 9- 13^th from 5-8:30PM.  We are hoping that the change in the time schedule will allow more players to participate.  We are not sure at this juncture if we are going to continue with using a trainer from MLS.  We are looking into other options and will have more information at the next meeting.

We are presenting the Township Committee with a plaque on Thursday, December 11^th at 8:00PM.  We will publicly thank them for their assistance to our club.  We will also see about the progress of the light situation for our fields.

We are allowed to use the County Park after April 1^st for games only.
