MINUTES FROM SEPTEMBER 2, 2003 MEETING

Meeting called to order @ 7:30PM by Bill O’Connell

Meeting Minutes from August 5, 2003.

Minutes approved on a motion from George Rithianos and seconded by Joe Pomponio.

Treasurer’s Report:

Motion to accept Treasurer’s Report made by Mike Angelus and seconded by Jason Nass.  Please note that the name Red Dragons has been changed to the Strikers.  The club had two returned (bounced) checks.  Current treasurer will not seek re-election for the 2004 year.

Vice President Traveling:

Games are starting this week for the traveling teams.  If you are attending the game on September 13^th, Troy needs a roster of who will be attending.  This roster includes all free and purchased tickets.

Vice President of Recreation:

The first registration date went well.  We had over 50 players sign up.  The next two registration dates are as follows: 

Sat.  Sept. 6^th from 1-3PM at the LEH Library

Sun.  Sept. 7^th from 12-2PM at Tip Seaman Pavilion.

Registration is $50.00.  Late registration after the 7^th will be $75.00.  Practices will start the week of Sept. 15^th.  Flyers have been given to the schools to be distributed to all students. 

Quartermaster:

New 6 ½ x 12 goals have been put up.  Please do your best to keep players off of the nets.  The 7 x 21 goal nets are in bad shape.  Please do what you can before each game to repair them.  The back middle field is closed.  We are having a uniform problem.  Some do not like the design (cat paws) and others are not happy with the quality.  We will wait to see if the quality issue will be resolved before taking any further action.

Old Business:

America’s Fest is set for Sept. 20 & 21^st.  We need more teams to register.  The final committee meeting has been scheduled for Thursday, September 11^th at 7:30PM.  The meeting will take place at the American Legion on Radio Road.

New Business:

New MLS trainer for the traveling teams is here.  His name is Coach James McLeod.  All traveling teams must submit their practice schedule so that the trainer can create a schedule.  If you need to contact him please call 296-2131.  Please be respectful of the times that you call.

Motion made by Jason Nass to adjourn the meeting @ 8:30 PM seconded by Joe Pomponio.
