(Victor has been quiet!) It is fun to be involved through his son and his daughter will be joining in the spring season. Through the Green Acres Fund the fields will have lights for next year. The Mayor has been a huge partner in making the complex a success. The Mayor also stated that if everything goes according to plan, the road into the complex will be paved in the spring. The Club would encourage everyone to vote on Election Day.Vice President Traveling:Received a letter from Walter Hopson in reference to canceling ‘traveling’ soccer clubs. This includes all traveling clubs from Ocean County Rec. to MOSA. You must call early in the week or you will be charged a $15 fine for canceling the games without proper notice, you must call by Tuesday night for Jersey Coast and by Wednesday night for MOSA.Received a letter from Joann Lesniakowski from the Lacey Wildcats to Cathy Errico and the U14 Divas. Joann stated in her letter that she was very impressed with the sincerity, courtesy, and sportsmanship demonstrated by the Divas during and after the game. Joann mentioned that she has had a difficult time getting enough players on her team and that the Divas were wonderful. She commented that even in the local WaWa the Divas players said ‘good game’ to the Wildcats that were in the store. She wanted to commend the Divas and the club for this demonstration of good sportsmanship. Round of applause was given for Cathy Errico and her team for a job well done. This letter has been posted on our web-site, under discussion articles. Our club has a web-site www.pinelandssoccer.org. Check it out for all the soccer club news and events. All coaches are entitled to a free email account through this web-site. Check this out under email accounts. If anyone is interested in becoming a recreation referee, Troy Yaede will be trained to be a certified referee instructor. If you are interested in a referee position higher than rec. please contact Troy and he will tell you what courses you need to take. Referees for recreation soccer is open to anyone 10 years and older. We need recreational referees. We had a situation last Saturday where a coach got red carded for becoming violent on the field and had to be escorted off of the field. A new law in the state has been passed to end the poor sportsmanship demonstrated by coaches, players, and parents. As a coach, you are in charge of the field. If you see a situation, contact one of the Board Members and they will help. Coaches can and will lose their ‘F’ license if they demonstrate poor sportsmanship on or off the field in regard to soccer and any sport.Troy also has information on traveling indoor soccer tournament. If you are interested please see him.We placed in the top five for the National Dribble, Shoot, and Score at the Regionals at Giant Stadium. We just missed going to the Championship Tournament in Boston. National level takes up to 4th place and our club placed 5th with Jonathan Yaede. We will be holding the Dribble, Shoot, and Score competition once again in the spring.Vice President of Recreation:Rutgers course will be offered at Pinelands on October 17th for recreation soccer coaches. There are still openings in the course. Mail a check for $20 with your name, address and telephone number to the Pinelands Adult Education. This is a minimum requirement for coaching recreation soccer. Please contact Kelly Schnepp for more information. It is mandatory to have an ‘F’ license to coach traveling. If you are interested in receiving your ‘F’ license contact Vicki Landolf to put you on the list. We need at least 20 people to get the course at our club. The club did not anticipate the number of players for the fall season. We have 210 players registered. 98 of them are 5 & 6 year olds! We need all the coaches to stay on board for the spring season, because our numbers may possibly double! When playing rec. games on Sundays please separate the players from their parents. This has several advantages. 1. You know where the players are at all times, when parents are there they tend to ‘get lost’. 2. Players can stay actively involved in the game by watching what is going on. While coaching please stay out of the penalty area, it is very intimidating on the goalie. If you are by yourself, enlist the help of one parent to keep an eye on the players on the sideline, or contact a Board Member, they are here to help you.Quartermaster:No dogs allowed on the field! If you see someone with a dog they must remove the dog immediately! If they do not comply animal control will be called to remove the animal. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please contact a Board Member. Paul DZ showed the new club uniforms for traveling. The club has shin guards if any player needs a loaner pair. If you see any problem with the equipment on the field please see Paul DZ. The stairs to the trailer are broken so please make sure that players do not go near them. Once the stairs are fixed the trailer will be painted by the Boy Scouts. If you are in need of any equipment, please let Paul DZ know.Old Business:Steve Maker from MLS is the club trainer for the fall season. He will be with us till November 9th. He has handouts for the coaches and parents for his expectation for the season (Hello Pinelands goes to parents, Hello all goes to coaches). If you have any questions email him or talk with him when you see him on the field. Steve has done a great job for our club. When he is working with your team the coaches should watch what he does to pick up pointers for yourself. Steve would like to hear from the coaches on the strengths and weaknesses the players have so he can gear his sessions to those areas in need. The state sent a letter requesting that we attend an Executive conference to sort out a past problem. The meeting was scheduled for September 25th and it was cancelled on the 24th. As of today, all forms have now been filed with the state. We need to get this situation sorted out so that we can get a raffle license for fund-raiser.New Business:Kid Safe Form must be filled out and filed by October 9, 2002. This is mandated by the state for all coaches. This is to protect you and the players. The next meeting will be on November 5, 2002 at the High School.Nominations for Board positions:President: Nomination for Bill OConnellVice President of Traveling: noneVice President of Recreation: noneTreasurer: noneQuartermaster (2 positions): Nomination for Paul DellaZannaSecretary: Nomination for Vicki LandolfCarry over nominations for the next meeting.
